Stonebelt Fightwear, a Canadian BJJ gear brand

You do the work.
Your gear should hold.

You show up early, train through setbacks, and keep going long after the novelty fades.

Stonebelt exists for practitioners like you. A family-run Canadian BJJ gear brand making small-batch gis and rashguards, built so your equipment is one less thing to think about.

The problem

Finding gear that holds up
shouldn't be a gamble

Jiu-jitsu has grown fast. So has the gear market. New graphics every few months. Collections that rotate with trends. Production shortcuts that protect margins instead of the product.

You've probably paid the price for that. A rashguard that stretched out in a season. A gi that frayed before your next stripe. Money spent on hype that didn't survive hard rounds.

Serious practitioners know something simple: the fundamentals still matter. Fit matters. Durability matters. Construction matters.

The best gear isn't the loudest. It's the gear you trust when training gets hard.

Our answer

Fundamentals done properly

We don't claim to reinvent BJJ gear. We focus on executing it properly, so you can buy once and train for years. Four standards guide every release.

Small batch. High standards.

We produce in controlled runs so every release can be inspected, refined, and held to standard. If it ships, it passed.

Timeless design

Clean lines. Minimal branding. No trend chasing. Gear designed to age well, visually and structurally.

Fundamentals done right

Correct fabric weight. Predictable sizing. Reinforced construction. The essentials that decide whether gear survives.

Durability over margin

We rejected cheaper materials and better margins to protect product integrity. Reliability beats short-term gain.

Who's behind the gear

A Canadian BJJ gear brand built by people who train

The family behind Stonebelt, a Canadian BJJ gear brand, wearing jiu-jitsu gis at the academy
Family on and off the mats

Stonebelt is a family company from Quebec, run by a husband and wife. One of us designs every piece. We both train in them. Between a day job and family life. Our kids have grown up around gear boxes and competition mats.

We started this at our kitchen table, after years of buying gear that didn't survive the way we train. Not as a brand to flip. As something we want to still be proud of in ten years.

That changes how we work. Samples get worn in real rounds before anything gets approved. If a collar softens or a seam creeps, it goes back. And when you write to us, one of us answers, usually between training sessions.

It's a slower way to build a company. It's also why we can stand behind our Heritage BJJ Gi and every piece that carries the name.

Good gear shouldn't feel disposable. It should feel dependable.

The name

Why "Stonebelt"

In jiu-jitsu, a belt is a record of who you're becoming. It isn't given. It's formed under pressure, like stone. Hardened by discipline. Earned through consistency.

The name is a reminder of what this art builds in the people who keep showing up: humility, perseverance, and quiet strength that endures while trends come and go.

That's the standard your gear should live up to.

Judge us on construction

Burned by hype brands before? Fair. Look at the fabric weight, the seams, and the sizing chart. Then judge the gear on how it holds up round after round.
